Motum to acquire Ascension Lifts, marking its first expansion outside Scandinavia

Motum, a leading and independent Scandinavian provider of elevators, escalators, and doors, has signed an agreement to acquire Ascension Lifts, a well-respected elevator company in Ireland. The acquisition is Motum’s first outside Scandinavia and marks an important milestone in the company’s strategy to grow in Europe.

Since 2003, Ascension Lifts has built a strong reputation in the Irish market thanks to its high quality in service, maintenance, modernisation, and installation of elevators. With an experienced team, broad multi-brand expertise, and a strong local presence, Ascension Lifts is a good fit with Motum’s values and complements the Group’s existing companies. The acquisition is part of Motum’s long-term plan to expand in Europe.

The acquisition was completed on 29 April 2025, and Ascension Lifts is now officially part of the Motum Group.
